My research interests are in studying evolutionary processes to understand how they discover such fascinating solutions in nature and how they can be applied to engineer more creative and effective solutions in the laboratory or on the computer. I conduct evolution experiments with bacteria and digital organisms to understand relationships between variation, robustness, evolvability, redundancy, and genetic regulation. <td></tr></table>
